Printing Technique Used
What is Dye-Sublimation Printing?
Dye-sublimation printing is a digital heat transfer process that offers permanent image transfer onto polyester garments or polyester-coated surfaces. Here’s how it works: When subjected to high temperatures, sublimation ink undergoes a transformation into a gas state. This gaseous ink permeates the open pores of the polyester-coated item or garment. After removing the transfer paper, the pores cool and seal, effectively trapping the ink and the image within the item’s surface. As a result, the sublimated image becomes a durable and integral part of the substrate, adopting its texture and base color.
It’s important to note that dye sublimation is compatible only with white or very light-colored garments and substrates. Materials like cotton and items lacking the specific coating required for this process are not suitable for sublimation.
Care of Your Sublimated Tee
Why is My Sublimation Print Faded After Washing?
It is wise to use the best washing practices if you have sublimation printed clothing. Over time sublimated prints will fade when exposed to the sun. So follow care instructions on the side label. and do not dry under direct sunlight.
